YAB Datuk Amar Haji Fadillah bin Haji Yusof, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, delivered the closing remarks at the Closing Ceremony of the 25th ASEAN Energy Business Forum (AEBF) 2025.
The AEBF 2025 has come to a close, and what an inspiring few days it has been. The ASEAN Member States, Dialogue Partners, industry leaders, and energy stakeholders from across the region came together to exchange ideas, share best practices and strengthen our collective commitment towards a sustainable and resilient energy future for ASEAN.
Over the past few days, the spirit of regional cooperation has truly shone. Together, we explored innovative solutions, exchanged best practices, and reaffirmed our shared commitment to building a sustainable and resilient energy future for ASEAN.
Under the APAEC 2026–2030, ASEAN has set ambitious targets in renewable energy and energy intensity – a clear reflection of our collective belief that the energy transition is no longer a distant vision, but a present-day imperative.
ASEAN remains committed to strengthening regional cooperation to ensure energy security and accelerate decarbonisation towards a just and inclusive energy transition, in line with the theme of the APAEC 2026–2030. Through collective efforts, ASEAN aims to drive meaningful progress and ensure that no Member State is left behind in the region’s journey towards a sustainable energy future.
As this year’s AEBF 2025 comes to a close, ASEAN looks forward to the next edition to be hosted by the Philippines in 2026, under the Philippines’ ASEAN Chairmanship.
